Benjamin Oaks
Policy Intern
Benjamin Oakes, a sophomore at the University of California, Los Angeles, is studying public affairs and statistics and data science. He has a strong passion for addressing humanity’s most pressing social and environmental concerns and is dedicated to advancing the transition to renewable energy. Benjamin has experience participating in proceedings at the California Public Utilities Commission, California Energy Commission, and California Air Resources Board on policy issues such as microgrids, community solar, transportation electrification, and energy efficiency. He is currently working with other Clean Coalition team members on an initiative to equitably accelerate Los Angeles’ transition to a zero-carbon, clean energy future. In his free time, Benjamin enjoys running, hiking, and playing the piano.
