Erik Hagstrom
Project & Policy Consultant
Erik Hagstrom is a dedicated climate and energy professional with a background in research, policy, and project implementation. Growing up in Menlo Park and San Diego, Erik demonstrated early initiative by graduating high school early to teach English in China. His commitment to sustainability led him to found the first Green Revolving Fund at a California community college.
At UC Berkeley, Erik studied Political Economy concentrating in China and researched US and China fossil fuel energy investment guidelines and loopholes as an Associate Researcher at the California China Climate Institute. His professional experience includes roles as Fundraising Development Director at a climate education nonprofit and Marketing Coordinator at an IoT energy efficiency startup. As a CivicSpark Fellow at Solano County, Erik implemented various sustainability programs, including edible food recovery, energy efficiency, and ‘energy for ag’ policies. He also led the development of a battery energy storage ordinance. In his current role with Clean Coalition, Erik engages in collaborative research to identify models, policies, and chokepoints in a just international energy transition from fossil fuels.
