Global energy needs continue to grow with population and industrialization. Economic, political, and environmental issues are largely dictated by energy needs. The third international ECS Electrochemical Energy Summit (E2S) is designed to foster an exchange between leading policy makers and energy experts about society needs and technological energy solutions. The energy–water nexus, the intersection of two critical resource issues, will be a special focus of the 2013 E2S.
