Local CLEAN Program Guide “Gaining Support” Module Release

This module explains how key influencers, policymakers, utility staff members, and other stakeholders can generate support for a well-designed CLEAN Program.

The Clean Coalition has released theGaining Support for a CLEAN ProgramModule of the Local CLEAN Program Guide. The Guide is a comprehensive how-to guide for communities and utilities across the nation to evaluate, design, and enact Clean Local Energy Accessible Now (CLEAN) Programs based on global best practices for increasing the amount of cost-effective renewables and allowing a community to benefit from the associated economic benefits.

The latest module explains how key influencers, policymakers, utility staff members, and other stakeholders can generate support for a well-designed CLEAN Program for a community-controlled utility. This involves an exploration of the community’s goals and alignment of the program to these goals. As outlined in the module, once consensus amongst stakeholders has been built, the local utility can integrate the CLEAN Program into existing local utility planning processes.
