Mr. Bernhardt’s session, “Utilities and Microgrids, Battery Storage, and EVs: When Will They Hit ‘Prime Time?,” explored the rate of advancement and application in microgrid, storage, and electric vehicle technologies, as well as how the pace of change will influence the utility business model. Specific case studies and applications of these emerging technologies illustrated how the utility business can adapt to innovation and potentially even leverage these technologies for new business opportunities.
