Ben Werner

Program Specialist

Ben has served as engineer and project manager within both early-stage R&D and manufacturing environments, leading the design and implementation of antenna and RF systems, digital and analog hardware, and software-based control systems. An electrical engineer by training, Ben has spent most of his career focusing on systems change supporting sustainability and resilience. After founding an electric vehicle startup company in Santa Barbara, for which he co-designed and built an award-winning prototype EV, Ben spearheaded a local policy-change initiative to support best practices in the built environment through flexibility in land use codes. Ben received his BSEE and MSEE from UC Santa Barbara.
