Clean Coalition awarded contract for D.C. microgrid
The COG award is the most recent engagement for the Clean Coalition to provide expert consultation in the feasibility, design, and implementation of microgrids.
The Clean Coalition was recently named as a winning contractor for a Washington D.C. microgrid program after responding to a request for proposals (RFP) from the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG).
The COG is a regional organization consisting of 22 Washington D.C. metropolitan area local governments and their governing officials, including members of the Maryland and Virginia legislatures. The COG RFP was issued to secure expert guidance for its member governments–and other D.C. metropolitan area stakeholders–in their efforts fostering the development of advanced local energy systems. The COG seeks to examine opportunities for analysis of microgrid system options, including considerations of optimal design, construction, and operation. The project also exists to examine the engineering and financial feasibility of local energy systems.
The COG award is the most recent engagement for the Clean Coalition to provide expert consultation in the feasibility, design, and implementation of microgrids. Through theCommunity Microgrid Initiative, we continue working closely with a Pacific Gas & Electric, PSEG Long Island, Long Island Power Authority, and other key stakeholders to deploy the Hunters Point Community Microgrid Project in San Francisco, CA and the Long Island Community Microgrid Project in East Hampton, NY.
The Clean Coalition brings its unique methodology for leveraging high penetrations of local renewables and other distributed energy resources to enhance grid resilience and reliability. We are proud to have been selected as a leading technical consultant on the COG project and look forward to creating clean and affordable energy systems in the nation’s capital.
