Craig Lewis and Brian Korpics, Executive Director and Policy Director for the Clean Coalition, appeared as panelists and moderators at the 2nd NY Energy REVolution Summit, which took place on July 26-28, 2016 in New York, NY. The Clean Coalition was also a proud partner organization for this event.
It had been over two years since New York introduced the Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) — one of the most comprehensive regulatory reforms for transmission and distribution utilities.
REV is a major decision-making process underway now to transform the retail electricity market and overhaul New York’s energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. The stated goal of the proceeding is to create a cleaner, more affordable, more modern, and more efficient energy system in New York, through the increased development of distributed energy resources, like rooftop solar, energy efficiency, and battery storage.
Questions answered at the NY Energy REVolution Summit:
- What has happened since the REV was announced?
- Is it on track?
- How are utilities and stakeholders working towards the state’s goals?
- What is the current status and future of REV?
- How are distribution system operators affected by current policies and regulations and what changes will emerge?
