Greg Thomson, ProgramsDirector for the Clean Coalition, presented at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Energy and Sustainability Summit, which took place on June13at Oracle in Redwood City.
Mr. Thomson was part of apanel discussion titled “Connecting the Dots: Scaling Up Intelligent Microgrids” from 2:30-3:45pm. He detailedtheClean Coalition’s groundbreaking Hunters Point Project, which will bring clean local energy online in San Francisco. TheHunters Point Project, named after the substation that serves both the Bayview and Hunters Point areas, will prove that clean local energy can fulfill at least 25% of total electric energy consumption in the area. This project will also bringsubstantial economic, energy, and environmental benefits to the local area, which are detailed in theHunters Point Project Benefits Analysis.
